Ingredients:

3 very ripe bananas (medium/large)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (8 Tbsp) at room temperature

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup walnuts
-
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a bread loaf pan (9.25" x 5.25" x 2.75").

Toast the walnuts lightly in a skillet, stirring continuously to prevent burning. Chop coarsely and let cool.

Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.

Mash the bananas with a fork until they reach the consistency of chunky applesauce. Add them to the batter along with the eggs and mix until blended.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the batter and mix until just combined.

Stir in the vanilla extract, chopped walnuts, and chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the banana bread rest in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
